FromSoftware and Kadokawa seem to be preparing for the announcement of the anime adaptation of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, reports Prosports.kz.

A domain named sekiro-anime.jp has been found, registered by Kadokawa Corporation, the parent company of FromSoftware and one of Japan's largest media conglomerates.

Rumors about an anime based on Sekiro have been circulating for quite some time. The game stands out among other FromSoftware projects due to its linear storyline, well-developed protagonist, and visual style that is perfectly suited for animation. Previously, in September 2024, insider Oecuf reported that the series is allegedly being developed by the studio Qzil.la, known for adapting the manga "Hell's Paradise."

The plot of "Hell's Paradise" takes place during the Tokugawa shogunate and follows a ninja who embarks on a mysterious island quest for the elixir of immortality. The tone, style, and themes of the project resonate with the world of Sekiro, bolstering the credibility of the rumors.

Currently, Kadokawa has not commented on the domain registration. Upcoming major events where an official announcement might occur include Gamescom 2025 (starting August 19) and the Tokyo Game Show 2025 (taking place in September).

If the information is confirmed, Sekiro will become the second FromSoftware game to receive a screen adaptation, as the studio has previously announced a film based on Elden Ring, directed by Alex Garland.
