The International 2025, the premier tournament of the year in esports Dota 2, is set to be an unforgettable event. From September 4 to 14, in the German city of Hamburg, at the Barclays Arena, we will witness the world’s top teams competing for prestige and a substantial prize pool. The tournament is organized by Valve in collaboration with PGL, ensuring a high level of event management.

This year is particularly special for The International, not only due to its return to the country that hosted the first event in 2011 but also because of a revamped format. The group stage will utilize a Swiss system with best-of-three matches. The top three teams from each group, along with five leading teams from a special qualification round, will advance to the playoffs.

A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament. Eight of the best teams received direct invitations from Valve, while the remaining teams qualified through open qualifiers. Interestingly, Western Europe and Southeast Asia each secured two slots, while other regions received only one.
