The police arrested a player from the English Premier League (EPL) during his team’s training, under suspicion of filming consensual sex without his partner’s permission, reports the British tabloid The Sun. The identity of the athlete has not been disclosed. According to the publication, authorities seized two phones from the footballer and examined their content.
The interrogation lasted for six hours. After the meeting, the player was released. The tabloid notes that fellow players initially did not believe what was happening and thought it was a prank, leaving them bewildered. The scandal erupted after a woman accused the player of allegedly secretly recording their sexual encounter despite her objections.
Previously, it was reported that Nando of the ‘Norilsk Nickel’ team left the field prematurely during a match in the Russian championship held in Novosibirsk. The reason was racist insults from rival fans of the ‘Sibir’ club. A probe may be initiated involving specialists from the Russian Football Union regarding this incident.
It was also reported that Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior faces a potential 12-match suspension due to an incident involving a goalkeeper during a match against Valencia. In the 79th minute of the match with a score of 0:1, Vinicius pushed goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski from behind.
